Big Changes Coming to Lake of the Ozarks: Amusement Park, Resort, and Redevelopment Projects Underway

Osage Beach, MO – The Lake of the Ozarks is set for a major transformation with several large-scale commercial projects breaking ground and moving forward. From a sprawling amusement park and resort to a revitalized shopping district, the region is preparing for a wave of development that promises to reshape its tourism and business landscape.
Oasis at Lakeport: A $400 Million Destination
One of the most highly anticipated projects is Oasis at Lakeport, a massive mixed-use development currently under construction near the Grand Glaize Bridge on U.S. Highway 54. While the project has experienced some delays, progress is underway on what will be a game-changing addition to the area.
The plans include:
-
20+ acres of amusement rides and attractions
-
A full water park
-
A 400-room resort hotel
-
Approximately 30,000 square feet of meeting and conference space
The price tag for this ambitious project sits around $400 million, with a projected partial opening as early as summer 2026 and full completion expected in 2027.
Reviving the Osage Beach Outlet Mall
Another significant development in the works is the planned redevelopment of the former Osage Beach outlet mall. Once home to over 100 stores, the shopping center now operates with fewer than 20 active tenants, leaving much of the property vacant.
Though still in the early planning stages, the revitalization project aims to bring the space back to life with a target completion date in 2027.
Residential Growth on the Rise
It’s not just commercial projects making headlines — the residential market is heating up too. According to Steph Schnelle, a real estate agent with RE/MAX at the Lake, there are currently over 80 homes listed for sale, with new construction continuing throughout the area.
A Bright Future for the Lake
With major entertainment attractions, hospitality expansions, and commercial revitalization on the horizon, the Lake of the Ozarks is positioning itself for year-round tourism, economic growth, and an enhanced quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
